National Assistant Principals Week, April 1–5, 2024, is a celebration of the unsung heroes in our education system. These dedicated folks work tirelessly to bolster teachers, motivate students, support their principal, create a positive learning community, and face the many unpredictable challenges that land on their desk.

Assistant Principals play a crucial role, and this week is a dedicated time to recognize them for their hard work and commitment to our schools, students, and profession. Please join us in celebrating these incredible school leaders!

Earlier today, our second graders were treated to a visit from author and illustrator of the children's book series called Wallace The Brave, Mr. Will Henry Wilson! Students learned all about writing and illustrating children's books, specifically graphic novels. Another fun fact-Mr. Wilson is also a proud graduate of PRES! #WeAreDR

We are very fortunate to enlist The Hill for Literacy to grow our reading and writing toolboxes this year. We work alongside an implementation specialist to grow our skills and strategies each month. The district elementary level staff also participates in a graduate course called Science of Reading every other month. These incredible professional development opportunities are funded through an early literacy DESE grant that the district was awarded last spring. #WeAreDR
